They said I smelt
Of the unwashed clothes and the dirty soil
Of the unclean body and the feet oh shoddy

Of my belligerent past and the time that passed
Of the history of my caste

They said I smelt
Of the unmet dreams and the wishes oh unreal
Of the times that I had lost
